Creative Protest Signs
a weekend workshop at
The Arm, Brooklyn, NY
Oct. 18 and 19, 9am-12pm

"Joy is an act of resistance." —Toi Derricotte

This 2-day weekend intensive workshop will lead participants through the steps of making interactive and performative protest signs. These signs will include pull tabs, moving parts, flipping phrases, and sign painters' lettering.

Day 1 will be lead by designer and paper engineer, Kelli Anderson (she/her). She will distribute largescale templates and will lead the group in the construction of two different types of animated signs.

Day 2 will be led by renowned sign painter, Olive Panter (they/them), who is responsible for some of NYC's most iconic storefronts. Olive has years of experience lettering windows, doors, signs and dissenting—and will help you make your slogan look goooooood.

Since protesting is pretty much our full time job now, we might as well make the most of the craft, humor, shared dreams, and comraderie of it! 🙃
